I was born and raised in Highlands County and treasure my small-town heritage.
The truth is nobody does this alone. My parents valued education and were
always very involved in every aspect of our lives. I am the product of a caring
family, supportive teachers, and a community that was very committed to
providing me the many opportunities to achieve and excel. Such rich experiences
have helped shape my commitment to God, family, and the public education
system in Highlands County.

My husband, Eric, and I, along with our two children, are proud graduates of the
Highlands County school system. After working six years at the telephone
company, I stayed home with my children until my youngest entered
kindergarten. I completed my bachelor’s degree in elementary education while
substituting in Highlands County schools. After several years as a classroom
teacher, I transitioned into a reading coach position and began my master’s
degree in educational leadership. While an administrator, I pursued and
completed my doctoral degree in leadership and education.

I am very honored to have had the opportunity to serve this community as the
Superintendent of Schools in Highlands County for the past eight years.
